Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi

The emergency meeting of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be held on July 28.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that the emergency meeting of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be held on July 28, in Vienna, Austria.

"The meeting will be held at the level of deputies and political directors of Iran's Foreign Ministry in Vienna.

Pointing to the coming meeting of Joint Commission of the JCPOA, Mousavi added: "after the meeting held June 28, practical implementation of some of Iran’s obligations in the nuclear deal was suspended and following that, the European side wanted this situation to be investigated at a joint commission meeting before the foreign ministers’ meeting," he said.

According to Mousavi, this meeting will not replace the coming meeting of the foreign ministers, rather it will create a chance to prepare the ground for the meeting of the ministers.

On May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the 2015 nuclear accord.

Following the US withdrawal, Iran and the remaining parties launched talks to save the accord.

However, the EU’s failure to ensuring Iran’s economic interests forced Tehran to stop observing certain commitments under JCPOA in May 2019.
