Iran Press/Iran news: Deputy defense minister, General Ghasem Taghizadeh, also confirmed that an advanced Iranian-made communications satellite, known as 'Tolou' or 'Dawn' will be launched in the next three to four months, Iran Press reported.
Speaking at a commemoration ceremony in Bardsir, in Kerman province in southern Iran, in honor of 268 martyrs of Bardsir, General Taghizadeh emphasized that in the early days of the Islamic revolution, Iran manufactured only 31 defense-related products, whereas today Iran manufactures 771 different types of defense and military-related equipment and hardware.
In further remarks, General Taghizadeh said: "We have currently 820 research projects in aerospace, space science, and defense fields in different stages of completion. We also manufacture a range of ground-to-ground ballistic missiles with ranges up to 2000 kilometers, using both liquid and solid fuel."
"Because the Leader of the Islamic revolution was very concerned about the accuracy of these missiles, we spent considerable time and effort on making these missiles super accurate. Our missiles are capable of hitting their targets with a superb accuracy of landing within one or two meters of the target."
On Feb 4, Iran's Information and Communications Technology Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said that the Iranian youth have built several satellites during the past several years.
