Iran Press/Asia: The meeting between the Mohammad Javad Zarif and Shah Mehmood Qureshi focused on ways to expand bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries and consultations on regional issues.
Consultations on trade-economic and energy cooperation between the two countries were among other issues to be discussed in the meeting, according to IRNA.
The top Iranian diplomat arrived in Islamabad last night to meet with high-ranking Pakistani officials and discuss bilateral, regional and international issues with them.
The trip is taking place in continuation of Zarif’s recent visits to several Asian countries.
Zarif is also expected to meet Pakistan's army chief general Qamar Javed Bajwa.
He will brief the Pakistani leadership on the latest regional developments and bilateral ties.
This is Zarif’s tenth visit to Pakistan since he became Iranian foreign minister in 2013.
Iran and Pakistan are scheduled to form a joint quick reaction force to combat militant activity on their shared border.
