  • Explosion in Kabul Kills One, Wounds Another

At least two people were killed or wounded in an explosion triggered by a magnetic bomb in Kabul city on Saturday morning, according to Afghan security officials.

Iran Press/Asia: Basir Mujahid, a spokesman for Kabul Police Commandment, said the incident took place in the vicinity of Kote Sangi area located in 5th police district of the city.

Mujahid further added that the magnetic bomb was planted in a private Toyota Corolla vehicle. The bomb exploded at around 8:20am local time on Saturday morning, Khaama Press News Agency reported.

He said the blast left the driver of the vehicle dead while another individual was wounded in the explosion.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.

The anti-government armed groups have stepped up magnetic bomb attacks in Kabul city and other large cities and provinces in Afghanistan in recent years.

More than 17 years after US-led military aggression and occupation of Afghanistan, the Taliban and other terror groups like Daesh (ISIS) terrorists are thriving in the country, controlling large swathes of territory, and showing no signs of defeat.  101/211/202
