Turkish president welcomed and greeted his Iranian counterpart in Ankara.

Iran PressAsia: Iran's President Hassan Rouhani was received officially by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an On Thursday.

The two sides are right now holding bilateral talks, Iran Press reported.

The main purpose of president Rouhani’s visit to Ankara is to take part in the 5th supreme council for strategic cooperation between Iran and Turkey, to be chaired by the presidents of the two countries.

Furthermore, signing MOUs and taking part in Iran-Turkey conference on economy is also on President Rouhani's agenda.

President Hassan Rouhani, heading a high-profile delegation, made the trip to Ankara to attend the fifth session of Iran-Turkey's supreme council for strategic relations.

The two-day trip happened upon an official invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.

The two sides are expected to sign important documents in political, economic and cultural fields.

President Rouhani is expected to leave Ankara for Tehran on Thursday evening.105/203
