A new round of international talks on the Syria crisis has been held in Kazakhstan.

Delegates from three guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, namely Iran, Russia and Turkey attended the meetings.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey as guarantors of the observance of the ceasefire regime in the Syrian Arab Republic issued a joint Statement on the International Meeting on Syria in Astana.

Head of the Russian delegation to Astana talks on Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, said that the guarantor states (Russia, Iran, and Turkey) of the Astana process reaffirmed that the political solution via sitting at a round table is the way for resolving the crisis in Syria, and that they rejected unilateral actions.

The ninth round of Astana talks on Syria kicked off on Monday with the participation of Syrian delegation headed by Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari.
