Iran Press/America: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo speaking in the Jordanian capital Amman on Tuesday said: "The United States is redoubling its diplomatic and commercial efforts to counter Tehran's influence in the region."
Any US troop pullout from Syria would not undermine the battle against ISIS terrorist group, Pompeo said at the joint press conference with Jordanian foreign minister Ayman Safadi in Amman, according to Iran Press.
US Secretary of State pointed to Trump's decision to withdraw troops from Syria and claimed that the move would not jeopardize Washington's efforts to counter threats in the region.
Pompeo claimed: "The most significant threats to the region are ISIS and the Islamic revolution."
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif swiftly hit back at the latest US broadsides on Tuesday, tweeting that the "pure obsession" with Iran which is very much like the attitude of "persistently failing psychotic stalkers."
