Mohammed bin Salman tries to absolve himself of Khashoggi murder

A group of 50 lawyers has been tasked by journalists, bloggers and human right activists to lodge a complaint in the Tunisian courts to oppose the visit, lawyer Nizar Boujlel said.

Khashoggi, 59, an outspoken critic of Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, disappeared after he entered the Saudi diplomatic mission in the Turkish city on October 2 to complete some paperwork for his forthcoming marriage, but he never came out of that building alive.

However, as diplomatic pressure grew tremendously on Riyadh to give an account on the mysterious fate of its national, in an unexpected statement last month, Saudi Attorney General Sheikh Saud al-Mojeb admitted that Khashoggi had been killed in a “premeditated” attack in the consulate.

A set of findings and evidence in Turkey’s own probe disprove some of the Saudi prosecutor’s claims over the killing.
