Iran Press/Iran news: In a press conference in Baghdad with his Iraqi counterpart, Mohamed Ali al-Hakim, Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that the two countries have very similar views on regional and international affairs and this can be helpful to regional security.
According to Iran Press, after hours of discussion between political and experts' delegations of the two sides, the Iranian foreign minister assessed the meeting as positive and fruitful.

"The two sides are preparing the final agreements which will be signed during President Rouhani's trip to Baghdad. The two sides have achieved good agreements on different issues including health services, traveling for pilgrims and passengers, trade and facilities in these sections", Zarif said in the conference.
Iran's foreign minister went on to say: "Hopefully, final agreements and understanding will strengthen mutual relation and also help Iraq to enter the reconstruction phase after defeating Daesh (ISIS) terrorists and Takfiri extremism".
Iranian FM and his Iraqi counterpart stressed that their countries support a revival of Syria's role in the region. Zarif emphasized that the two countries have similar views on supporting Syria's territorial integrity, combatting terrorism and Syria's involvement in international mechanisms.
Appreciating Iraq's leading role in fighting terrorism in Syria, Zarif said: "Islamic Republic supports Iraq's role and efforts in Syria and we ask the Arab League to once again give Syria a seat at the League".
Zarif arrived in Baghdad late on Saturday to carry out preparations for Rouhani’s visit. He arrived in Baghdad as part of a senior Iranian delegation.
“In Iraq ahead of President Rouhani's 3-day state visit, featuring: -Meetings with political, religious, business, civil society leaders in Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf, and multiple agreements on further regional, political and economic cooperation,” the Iranian foreign minister said in his latest post on his Twitter account while in Iraq on Sunday.
President Rouhani is scheduled to arrive for an official three-day visit to Baghdad on Monday 11 March. Exploring ways to expand bilateral relations in the political, economic and cultural fields has been announced as one of the most important goals of the visit by President Rouhani.
In a conference held in Tehran on March 9 to commemorate the senior Iraqi Shia cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Iran and Iraq are the pillars of regional security and without these two important countries, the region would not be secure.
“Without Iran and Iraq, this region will not be peaceful, the two countries are the pillars of regional security, and we hope that with the new move that the Iraqi parties have begun, we can move forward,” Zarif added. 212/211/103
