Iran Press/Iran News: In the conversation, Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated Faisal Mekdad on his election as Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also expressed his condolences on the death of late Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem and called for continued strategic cooperation between the two countries.
