Zarif calls for Lebanon coordination against US unilateral actions

Iran's Foreign Minister in a message to his Lebanese counterpart called for greater cooperation to confront the US bullying and unilateral action.

Iran Press/Middle East: Meeting with Lebanese foreign minister Gebran Bassil in Beirut on Friday, Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammed Jalal Firouznia handed him his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif's letter containing the US recent hostile actions against Iran.

According to Iran Press, Firouznia said that the United States leads the region to more insecurity and unrest, with its mindlessness unilateral and bullying policies that are in violation of international law and regulations.

"The countries in the region can stand up to US policies and bullying, with greater coordination and cooperation," he added

Emphasizing that the US will never achieve its goals, Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, said Iran would continue to maintain its rationale stands in support of the resistance front in Lebanon and Palestine.

In turn, praising Iran's support for Lebanon against the Zionist regime, Bassil expressed hope to eliminate cruel sanctions against Iran.

Minister Bassil also handed the Iranian ambassador a letter to Zarif which included a request for a special amnesty on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for the Lebanese national Nizar Zakka who is imprisoned in Iran.

Earlier on April 10, the secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said US action to call the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group, proves its failure and fiasco in the region.

He warned the US president Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and their mercenaries to wait for their new defeat as on all previous occasions.

Also, Lebanese and Palestinian clerics and representatives of resistance groups have expressed their support for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on April 18.

On Apr. 08, US President Donald Trump accused Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps of alleged financing and promoting terrorism in the region, a baseless accusation which the country strongly rejected.
