Iran Press/Asia: On the eve of the Yalda Night celebration, one of the ancient cultural heritages of Iran, Reza Amiri Moghadam said in a message that Yalda, in the shared culture of the two nations, especially in connection with ancient festivities, reflects the values of human kindness and hospitality.

He noted that the Yalda Night tradition, a shared heritage, has long been celebrated in our region and culturally similar countries. He added that in 2022, this cultural ceremony was inscribed on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This global organization described the ancient Yalda event as a comprehensive reflection of cultural identity, hospitality, friendship, peaceful coexistence, and cultural diversity.

Yalda Night, recognized as the longest night of the year, has long been celebrated in Iran and neighboring countries with family gatherings and friendly get-togethers. In Pakistan, special ceremonies are also held simultaneously with Yalda Night, such as the "Mayfung" festival in the northern regions, which takes place in the final days of autumn.

During this festival, people gather to celebrate with special customs, including lighting lanterns, setting off fireworks, and launching decorative balloons. Amiri Moghadam also expressed his happiness at being in the friendly, brotherly neighboring country during the ancient Iranian Yalda Night celebration and wished its people joy, security, and prosperity.
