Tehran (IP) - Iran's vice-president for parliamentary affairs says the crimes of Western countries who claim to support freedom and human rights but continue to support terrorists must be revealed.

Iran PressIran news: "We have over 17,000 martyrs who were victims of assassination, and we must introduce these victims of terrorism to the world," Mohammad Hosseini, Vice-President for Parliamentary Affairs told Iran Press on Monday.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony of the martyrdom anniversary of the then-President Mohammad-Ali Rajai and Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, which is also marked as the National Day of Fight Against Terrorism in Iran.

On August 30, 1981, the terrorist group Mujahedin-e-Khalq organization (MKO) blasted a bomb at the office of Prime Minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar in downtown Tehran that martyred senior Iranian officials, including Prime Minister Bahonar and President Rajai.

Referring to the continued support of the Western countries for the MKO, Hosseini added: "We should introduce the likes of Martyrs Beheshti, Rajai and Bahonar to the world, and the public opinion should know what atrocities have been committed in our country, and the crimes of those who now claim to support freedom, human rights, humanity, peace and friendships have to be revealed."

In this regard, President Ebrahim Raisi would raise these issues at the international community and the United Nations.

"We must challenge them and shed light on the crimes committed," the official concluded.
