Iran Press/ Iran News: In response to recent remarks of the French President, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh called on Emmanuel Macron to refrain from hasty and ill-considered positions.
"Without stopping the arms exports of France, Britain, the United States, and others, we cannot expect stability and calm in this sensitive region," he added.
Khatibzadeh noted: "JCPOA is a multilateral international agreement that has been ratified by Security Council Resolution 2231 and cannot be renegotiated in any way, and its parties are clear and unchangeable."
Referring to the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, the spokesman added: "The US has withdrawn from this agreement, and Europe has been unable to maintain it. If there is a desire to revive and maintain JCPOA, the solution is simple; the US should return to the agreement and remove all sanctions imposed during that country's previous presidency.”
Referring to France's massive arms sales to the Persian Gulf states, Khatibzadeh said: "If the French authorities are worried about selling their huge arms to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, it is better to reconsider their policies."
In an interview with Al-Arabiya, French President Emmanuel Macron said that negotiations with Iran would be rigorous. France's allies in the region, including Saudi Arabia, should be present in the negotiations for a nuclear deal.
