Iran Press/ Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency, President of Iran’s Judo federation Arash Miresmaili said: "Marius Vizer, President of International Judo Federation, announced a precondition for resolving the case of the suspension of Iranian Judo, which is not acceptable and is the red line of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
He added: "During the two years that Iranian Judo has been suspended by the International Judo Federation (IJF), good consultations and coordination has been done with the Ministry of Sport and Youth, the National Olympic Committee, and lawyers. The Iranian Judo Federation was successful in canceling the indefinite suspension vote."
Arash Miresmaili noted: "Regarding the recent verdict that has banned Iranian judo from participating in international and Asian competitions until 2023, we will challenge IJF at Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to protest the new vote."
In the coming days, meetings will be held with the officials of the Ministry of Sport and Youth and the National Olympic Committee to discuss ways to achieve Iran's judo rights.
Arash Miresmaili added: "Of course, Marius Vizer still insists on the precondition, and the decision to ban Iranian judo until 2023 is an unfair and cruel vote. The IJF has 21 days to protest the cruel vote in the CAS."
The President of the Iranian Judo Federation said: "Just as Iranian Judo canceled the implementation of the vote of unlimited banning of Iranian Judo in the world, international and Asian arenas, it also hopes to change the recent vote and will spare no effort to achieve the goal."
Arash Miresmaili noted: "Obaid Al-Anzi, the president of the Judo Union of Asia (JUA), is also following the issues related to the Iranian Judo case in the IJF and has emphasized his support for Iranian Judo."
He also said: "The IJF has announced that there is no problem in sending Mohammad Mohammadi Barimanloo, the only Iranian Olympic judoka, to Tokyo, but we will inquire about this at the Ministry of Sport and Youth."
Arash Miresmaili added: "As long as judo is suspended, the activities of this martial art in Iran will not stop, and the quantitative and qualitative expansion of judo in Iran will be on the agenda."
