Iran Press/Middle East: In a ceremony held on Wednesday to commemorate Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis at Iran's embassy in Baghdad, Hadi al-Amiri reiterated that the US forces inevitably must exit the Iraqi soil.
Reminding that the withdrawal of the US forces from the Iraqi soil is a national demand, al-Ameri said after the Iraqi parliament adoption and the demonstrations of millions of Iraqis and the martyrdom of General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the Americans have no choice but to leave Iraq.
"As I said at the funeral of the martyred commanders earlier this year, the atonement for the blood of these martyred commanders is the expulsion of American forces from Iraq and the entire region," he stressed.
He also highlighted the role of General Soleimani in ending the US' occupation of Iraq, saying that martyr Soleimani played a key role in defeating al-Qaeda and ISIS.
The head of the Al-Fatah coalition in Iraq recalled: "martyr Soleimani sometimes behaved in defense of Iraq in such a way that we as Iraqis felt ashamed before him."
