Tehran (IP) - The most tragic challenge the world today faces is the unprecedented genocide the Israeli regime is perpetrating in Gaza and Lebanon thanks to the support from the Western human rights advocates, said the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Legal and International Affairs.

Iran Press/Iran news: Out of a lawsuit South Africa filed to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in June 2024, to which countries like Spain joined, the ICJ ordered Israel to prevent acts of genocide against Palestinians and do more to help civilians but stopped short of ordering a ceasefire, but the regime disregarded the order and continued the genocide it launched since October 7, 2023, and killed more than 45,000 people in Palestine and Lebanon.

Delivering a speech on the occasion of the 79th establishment anniversary of the UN on Monday, Kazem Gharibabadi stated:
"Unfortunately, today we still are seeing that some states are trying to act against the UN Charter, and to achieve their foreign policy goals, they resort to any illegitimate action, regardless of the structure and duties of the UN derived from the charter."

As one of the founders of the UN, the Islamic Republic of Iran deeply believes that settling the current regional and international crises is not possible without resorting to the joint efforts of all countries, Gharibabadi noted.

He stressed that any unilateral action in the international community is against the goals and principles endorsed in the UN Charter and would weaken multilateralism and ultimately the authority of the law in the world order.

Thanks to the support from the US and its allies Germany, France, and the UK, the Israeli regime disregards any international law, be it the UN Charter or ICJ verdict, and spreads war entire the region; the regime three times has attacked Iran, the last of which took place early morning on Friday, October 25, to fuel the flames of the war it has run in the region.
