Iran Press/Iran news: In the wake of the Israeli regime's missile attack on Iran, FM Abbas Araghchi wrote a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the head of the UN Security Council, calling for an urgent meeting of the UNSC to condemn the aggression.
The Israeli regime tried to hit some targets within the Iranian national in western Tehran, the capital, and Khuzestan and Ilam Provinces in Western Iran, On Saturday early morning, October 26. The Israeli missiles were intercepted, yet they caused little damage.
Araghchi said in the letter that although the Israeli projectiles were intercepted by the Iranian defense system, the aggression led to damages to the targeted points and the martyrdom of 4 Iranian soldiers.
Based on the principles endorsed in the UN Charter and within the framework of international law, the Islamic Republic of Iran considered the rights preserved for itself to respond the Israeli crime.
It is more than one year, since October 7, 2023, that the Israeli regime, backed by the US, has launched an all-out war in the region and is massacring the people of Gaza, West Bank, and Lebanon while assaulting other countries like Iran and Syria.
The regime's attack on Gaza and Lebanon since the day has left more than 45,000 Palestinians and Lebanese martyred and more than 100,000 others wounded.
