Vienna (IP) - After the end of the 4th round of the JCPOA Joint Commission meeting on Friday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the United States and all other parties were serious about reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Iran PressEurope: Emphasizing the serious determination of the parties present at the meeting of JCPOA Joint Commission, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said: "The news that is being conveyed to us by the Americans is that they are serious about returning to JCPOA and have announced their readiness to lift a large part of sanctions. Which, of course, is not yet complete in our opinion. That’s why negotiations will continue until we reach all our demands in this regard."

Araghchi added: "Today, the first meeting of the new round of JCPOA Joint Commission was held in Vienna, and in the afternoon, the working groups on lifting sanctions and the nuclear issue started their work."

He noted: "What can be inferred from the first meeting is the seriousness of all parties in reaching a solution. This issue can be seen in all the delegations, and each of them expressed it somehow."

He further stated: "If the demands of the Islamic Republic of Iran are met, it will be quite serious in returning to its obligations under JCPOA. Elections are important in the country, but it has nothing to do with this issue. Our negotiations take place regardless of marginal issues. Our negotiations have national goals and consider the security of national interests."

"Overall, we started the new round of talks with positive energy, and we hope to achieve results in the shortest possible time. Of course, we cannot predict the exact time, but we hope to do it faster. The heads of delegations will be in Vienna even on weekends to lead the expert talks, and a joint commission meeting will be held again whenever necessary," Araghchi said.

Regarding the presence of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, he noted: "I met with him yesterday, but I do not know about other meetings of the Director-General. Of course, it is natural that the delegations consult with him."

The fourth round of the JCPOA Joint Commission meeting resumed this evening in the presence of the Iranian delegation and the P4 + 1 group at the Grand Hotel Vienna.
