US after destabilising Afghanistan: Iranian senior cleric

Tehran (IP) - The Secretary-General of Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly says the United States seeks to destabilize Afghanistan after withdrawal from the country in various ways.

Iran PressIran news: Ayatollah Reza Ramezani, Secretary-General of Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly in the meeting with Afghan scholars, Ayatollah Mohammad-Saleh Hashemi and Ayatollah Sheikhzadeh, pointed to the US' interferences in Afghanistan and said: "The United States seeks to destabilize Afghanistan in various ways." 

Emphasizing establishing an inclusive government in Afghanistan, Ayatollah Ramezani warned that without a multilateral government, there is a grave risk for civil war in Afghanistan.

Ayatollah Mohammad-Saleh Hashemi, a senior Afghan cleric for his part, pointed to the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and said the American mercenaries' hands were cut off from Afghanistan, but the US itself did not yet leave the country actually.

Also, Ayatollah Sheikhzad called for the Assembly's support for cultural activities in Afghanistan and the religious missionaries and strengthened the exercises of the Mustafa International Society.

The "Second Meeting of Afghanistan's Neighboring Countries kicked off in Tehran with the attendance of foreign ministers from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Russia, and China on Wednesday.

The meeting was wrapped up by approving the joint ministerial statement, which paved the way for the Afghan people's inclusive support.
