The US and the UK carried out strikes Saturday against 36 Yemen's army targets in 13 locations in Yemen in response to attacks against the ships that are moving towards the occupied territories of Palestine.

Iran Press/ West Asia: the US, the UK, and others who supported the strikes, including Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand in a statement claimed that these precision strikes are intended to disrupt and degrade what they called the capabilities that the Houthis use to threaten global trade.

Since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7th, the Yemeni army and Houthi fighters have joined the conflict to support the people of Gaza.

They announced that they would target ships carrying goods to Israel's occupied territories.

They want a ceasefire and an end to the killing of the people of Gaza by Israel.

"The recent strike specifically targeted sites associated with the Houthis' deeply buried weapons storage facilities, missile systems and launchers, air defense systems, and radars," it added.

S Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said separately that the collective action "sends a clear message to the Houthis that they will continue to bear further consequences if they do not end their illegal attacks on international shipping and naval vessels."

"We will not hesitate to defend lives and the free flow of commerce in one of the world's most critical waterways," he added.

Irish MEP Mick Wallace has condemned the US and the UK for bombing Yemen, accusing the allies of having no respect for other cultures or international law.

“The people of #Yemen stand in Solidarity with the #Palestinian people no matter what happens,” Wallace, a member of Left in the European Parliament – GUE/NGL, said in a post on X.

“The #US + #UK are bombing Yemen because they have no respect for other cultures or for International Law – No respect for anything that doesn’t suit their Political Agenda…”
