Iran Press/ Middle East: The majority of UNSC member states said the body “should do something,” with some suggesting a visit to the region, but no decision was taken.
Kuwait, which represents Arab countries at the council, and Bolivia requested the meeting following the worst flareup in Gaza since the 2014 war between Hamas and Israel, Press TV reported.
Addressing reporters after the 50-minute meeting, Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour said the council was "paralyzed" and had "failed to shoulder its responsibility" to take action to end the violence. "There is one country that is not allowing discussion at the council," Mansour told reporters, in a reference to the United States, which has taken a pro-Israeli stance under President Donald Trump.
In recent days, Gaza witnessed the worst flare-up of violence since the 2014 war. The violence broke out when the Israeli military launched an undercover raid against Gaza on the weekend and killed seven members of the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas) then followed by deadly air and artillery raids against Gaza Strip residential areas.

Israel’s aggression elicited a decisive response from the Hamas movement and other Palestinian resistance groups.
An intense barrage of rockets (460 missiles only in the past 24 hours) fired at the Occupied Territories from Gaza, Zionist regime army confirmed. Hamas announced a new missile has been used to attack Ashkelon city in southern Israel.
At least seven Palestinians were killed in Israeli air raids and over 30 others wounded. Two Israelis also died in Ashkelon, while around 20 others sustained injuries in counterattacks from Gaza.
On Tuesday, the Gaza-based resistance groups agreed to an Egypt-brokered ceasefire with Zionist regime.

Separately on Tuesday, the Hamas spokesman stressed that the resistance movement had “taught Israel a serious lesson.”
Gaza has been under a crippling siege since 2007 and witnessed three wars since 2008. It has also witnessed a fresh wave of tensions since March 30, which marked the start of “The Great March of Return” protests.101/205
