Tehran (IP) - The representative and director of UNESCO's water science department said that water management should be based on science and adaptability and build resilience against climate change.

Iran PressIran news: Abu Amani made the comment on Thursday at the 13th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Regional Center for Urban Water Management, on Thursday. 

He said: "If the member countries pay attention to these elements and act in harmony based on scientific topics, they can improve their resilience."

Abu Amani stressed the use of new technologies such as remote control and other technologies to have a better understanding of hydrology.  

Pointing to the upcoming water meeting in New York, he said: The second water meeting in New York is a very important meeting that will be held after several decades. 

At this conference, the member countries can have a voice and the key members of UNESCO can play a big role in it.
