The International Court of Justice (ICJ) said today that the assassination of Rafik Hariri was a political plot and there was no evidence that Hezbollah or Syria was involved in the assassination.

Iran PressEurope: The International Court of Justice in The Hague has ruled that there is no evidence that Hezbollah and Syrian leaders were involved in the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

Despite accusations against some Hezbollah members, the court acknowledged that there was no evidence that Hezbollah was involved in the assassination, and that Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Rafik al-Hariri had a good relationship.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister,  Rafik al-Hariri, also claimed that Salim Jamil Ayyash, Hassan Habib Merhi, and Mustafa Badraldin had used a communication network to coordinate the assassination of Hariri with more than 2.5 tons of explosives.

The Hague tribunal has ruled that Salim Ayyash, Hussein Hassan Oneissi, and Assad Sabra, and Hassan Merhi are accused of assassinating former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

The former Lebanon premier Hariri was murdered in 2005. Four alleged members of Hezbollah were on trial in absentia at the International Court of Justice over the suicide bombing in Beirut 15 years ago that killed Hariri and 21 other people.   207/219
