Iran Press/ America: With an overwhelming majority, the UN Human Rights Council decided to investigate possible Russian war crimes in Ukraine. It passed the resolution on Thursday amid calls by protesters in front of the UN headquarters in Geneva and an accusation by Ukraine of quote "endless list of crimes".
"The areas of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv regions, which have been under Russian occupation in late February and March, have experienced the most gruesome human rights violations on the European continent in decades."
Russia left its seat empty in protest. Moscow denies any civilian abuses in what it calls a "special military operation" in Ukraine.

But the UN is currently investigating what they say may amount to war crimes.
The investigation team is set to submit its progress in September and the final report by next March.
Meanwhile, G7 foreign ministers are in north Germany to discuss global food shortages resulting from the Ukraine war until Saturday. Then, an unofficial NATO meeting will take place in Berlin.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will take part as well as foreign ministers of Finland and Sweden.
The two Nordic countries expressed a wish to join the defense alliance overturning their long-held neutrality. Russia has warned of retaliation.
