Iran Press/Europe: Decisions to build the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline were taken in 2015 after the pro-Western administration was set up in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
By the time the project is exploited, Ukraine will lose $ 1.5 billion annually from gas transit revenues to Europe.
In an interview with Iran Press in Kyiv, a member of the expert's council of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, Professor Riabtsev Gennadi, said the interests of other countries were not allowed for in the construction agreement of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project signed between the US and Germany.
"Poland will indirectly lose millions of dollars in transit revenues, and Ukraine will lose half of its Russian gas transit revenues to Europe after the 2024 transit agreement expires," Gennadi noted.
Countries took their interests into account in any agreement, so wherever the interests of the Westerners were fulfilled, they would easily ignore democratic values, commitment to other countries, and political solidarity, all of which they used to advocate.
