Rawalpindi (IP) - The main Ashura procession was observed in Rawalpindi while different groups joined the gathering from the capital city Islamabad as well.

 

Iran PressAsia: The procession started from the Old Hussainia Maqbool Hussain, and over more than 120 groups from the city joined it.

Thousands of people from all walks of life and from all schools of thought together mourned for the grandson of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) who sacrificed his family and friends for the sake of Islam.

Sermons were delivered to the attendees, and the highest place and hardest grief of Imam Hussain (a.s) were recited.

Different groups of mourners mourn in different styles and languages like Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Balti and Persian as well.

Meanwhile, Majalis e Azza were also organized at mosques and homes as well and arrangements were done for the mourners at different spots, and different kinds of sweet drinks, and food were placed.

In the procession, the iconic Zuljinnah was also brought with other relics and marks.

A huge number of Alm e Abbas (a.s) were carried out by children and young people including women.

The mourners prayed Zuhrain at the famous Fountain Squair, while scholars spoke to the crowd and grieve of Imam e Hussain (a.s) were told and condole.

To avoid any unpleasant situation, high security measures were taken and the mobile phone service remained blocked till the end of the procession.
