Turkey's main opposition party(CHP) said 15 of its lawmakers have joined the newly established IYI party.
The CHP said this is meant to ensure the IYI's participation in parliamentary elections this June.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for a snap parliamentary and presidential election to be held on June 24, more than a year earlier than originally planned.
The parliamentary and presidential polls had previously been slated for November 2019.
Turkey held a referendum in mid-April 2017, during which the majority of voters decided in favour of an 18-article bill to switch from a parliamentary to a presidential system.
