Peyman Jebelli, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB)'s World Service The head of IRIB's World Service said that the attacks on Syria have no effect on the country.

"This intervention has no effect on the activities of Syrian army and people, nor on the resistance", the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB)'s World Service Peyman Jebelli said to Alalam News Network reporter.

"Western media tries to make a hopeless picture of the future of Syrian people, although what we see is totally a different story", Jebelli noted.

"The countries in the region, specially Saudi Arabia can not engage itself in a war with Syria, but the only thing that they can do is to give money to US to compensate the cost of the war", the head of IRIB's World Service concluded.

"What we are witnessing in Syria are the achievements and victories by the [Syrian] government and its allies in defeating terrorists," Peyman Jebelli said.

He added that the US had no option but to orchestrate such an "ineffective" attack, which he noted would fail to have any impact on the fight against terrorism in Syria.

Jebelli said the joint strikes showed that the US-led military coalition could not hinder the Syrians’ fight against terrorist groups.

Earlier this day Trump announced he ordered military strikes on Syria.

An alleged chemical weapons attack hit the town of Douma in Eastern Ghouta region in the suburban area near Damascus late on Saturday, reportedly killing at least 60 people and wounding more than 1,000 others.

The Western countries blamed the incident on the Syrian government. Damascus rejected the accusations as “chemical fabrications,” which were made by the terrorists themselves in a bid to halt pro-government forces’ advances.
