UK Prime Minister warned that escalations in the Persian Gulf region with Iran is in "no one’s interests".

Iran Press/Europe: Theresa May also has urged Iran to uphold its obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal, Reuters reported.

May demand Iran to keep 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plane of Action (JCPOA) came when Tehran on May 8 has issued a 60-day ultimatum to JCPOA signatories to fulfill their commitments, if not Tehran will ease its additional commitments.

Iran ultimatum will end on July 7 and Iran vows if JCPOA partners don’t observe their commitment for example if 'INSTEX' or EU mechanism for trade, don't meet Tehran's needs, Iran next steps will be more decisive.

Theresa May made the comments on Saturday at her last G20 meeting in Japan. She added: "We need engagements on all sides to find a diplomatic solution to the current situation."

"At the same time, the UK will continue to work with our JCPOA partners to do all we can to keep the Iran nuclear deal in place," she added.

Theresa May told the G-20 summit in Osaka, Japan that a diplomatic solution with Iran must be found to resolve current tensions.

It comes as the US beefed up its forces in the region, sending additional F-22 warplanes to the area.

The F-22 movement comes a week after Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down a US RQ-4 spy drone close to the Iranian province of Hormozgan, near the coastline of southern Iran.

White House in May deployed the aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf, sharply increasing tensions with Iran, claiming that Iran is threatening US interests in the region -- a claim which Iran has categorically rejected.

The crisis has its root in President Donald Trump’s withdrawal last year from the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers that limited Iran’s uranium enrichment activities in return for lifting of sanctions against Tehran.

Washington subsequently re-imposed sanctions on Iran after illegally abrogating the multilateral nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) in May 2018.
