Palestine (IP) - Tel Aviv's Police Chief resigned in protest to the Israeli cabinet's interference with the security forces' affairs.

Iran Press/Middle East: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has presented a series of reforms to curb the jurisdiction of the regime's Judiciary, including the restriction of the power of its Supreme Court.

The protests to the reforms have so far entered the 26th consecutive week in Tel Aviv and other parts of the Israeli-occupied territories.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday, Israeli Police Chief Ami Eshed announced his resignation over the political intervention of Netanyahu's cabinet to force the police to suppress the protesters.

Eshed noted that he could not meet the expectations of a certain ministerial body for the intensification of the crackdown on the protesters because such requests are a violation of the rules and a clear interference with professional decision-making.

After the resignation, many Zionist settlers in Tel Aviv took to the streets and once again protested against Netanyahu's dictatorial cabinet.
