Tehran is a reliable partner for New Delhi

The Indian ambassador to Iran called Tehran a reliable partner for New Delhi and said India wants to maintain relations with Iran and resume oil purchases from Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: Gaddam Dharmendra, the Ambassador of India in Iran, noting that the cooperation between the two countries in the field of transportation is underway in the form of development of Chabahar port, said: "India has a partnership with the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization and is committed to its development."

Dharmendra referring to the fact that the central banks of Iran and India are in contact with each other and are developing their relations, said: The Rupee-Rial financial mechanism started before any other financial mechanism and this financial mechanism is still in place."

Regarding the US sanctions against Iran and its impact on Tehran-New Delhi relations, the Indian ambassador to Tehran said: "Despite US sanctions, Iran and India have maintained relations in various fields, and New Delhi stands by Tehran in facing the sanctions."

Dharmendra called India's long-term strategy to buy oil from Iran and added: "There are big refineries in India that are built in accordance with the quality of Iranian oil, and not buying Iranian oil has caused losses to these refineries."
