Iran Press/ Iran news: The conference kicked off on Monday in the Milad Tower of Tehran, in the presence of the city's mayor Alireza Zakani and will be closed on Tuesday.
Zakani stressed the boosting of public transportation so that people decrease the use of their personal vehicles, noting that 75% of the traffic in Tehran was because of personal cars.
The Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development Shahriyar Affandizadeh said that there were numerous solutions to the traffic issue, some of which could be localized to Tehran.
Smart transportation, public transportation, traffic safety, economy and transportation, and training and regulations of traffic behavior were among the pivots of the conference.
Workshops and expos are also part of the 19th international transportation conference.
