Iran Press/ Iran news: Unrest and brawls were instigated under the pretext of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died due to a sudden heart attack in a police center in Tehran on Tuesday, September 13, after being taken there for violation of dress codes along with some other women.
Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami, the Friday Prayer Leader in Tehran, stated about the recent riots in some Iranian cities: "One of the main goals of the rioters is to overthrow the Islamic system and they themselves admit this."
Ayatollah Khatami, referring to the rioters' threat to the businesses to close the market and the shops, said: "The shopkeepers and businessmen will not pay any attention to the threats of the rioters, and those who tried to close their shops were afraid of the rioters damaging their property."
The Friday Prayer Leader in Tehran stated: "Today, all faith has come to the war of all disbelief, and the United States, the Zionist regime, France, Britain and the hateful, base, anti-people groups, members of MKO terrorist out fits and monarchists have all entered the field and are targeting the religion of Islam. Because if you didn't talk about religion, they wouldn't have insulted the Islamic scholars (the cleric) and they wouldn't have set fire to the Quran and mosques."
Ayatollah Khatami named inflicting damage to the authority of the Islamic system as another goal of the rioters and said: "A powerless government cannot establish security and the rioters have targeted the authority of the Islamic system."
