Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Tehran's targeting the safe haven of of terrorists in Pakistan was done as an pre-emptive measure to halt another anti- security action by the terrorist out fit.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at his weekly presser on Monday morning, Nasser Kanaani  the Spokesman of Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs  said: "Iran's action in targeting the safe haven of terrorists in Pakistan was due to an immediate necessity to prevent another anti-security action by this terrorist current."

Nasser Kanaani went on to state: "Establishing security on the eastern borders between the two countries in the long run will be for the promotion of common interests."

He further stressed: "The relationship between Iran and Pakistan is strong. The action against a terrorist group with numerous terrorist records against Iran was carried out within the framework of protecting the security of Iran's citizens and security facilities. This action was due to an immediate necessity to prevent another anti-security action by this terrorist current."

 Iran's Top diplomat then noted: "The relations between the two countries are fraternal and both sides respect the sovereignty of the two countries. The security of the two countries is dependent on each other and the two countries agree on the fight against terrorism, and these events will not diminish the strength of the relations between the two countries."

Threatening attack to Iran is a Fantasy of a 'Crime Minister'

In response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's threat to attack Iran, Nasser Kanaani said: "This threat is a fantasy by a criminal prime minister trapped in the Gaza swamp."

Speaking at his weekly news conference, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the threat of the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic shows the aggressive and criminal nature of this regime and its level of threat to global security.

He emphasized that this regime is against international peace and security and always seeks to create insecurity in the region.

He also stated that while Iran views these threats and rhetoric as useless, it expects the world and the Security Council to react and take action against any war-mongering.

Referring to the war in Gaza and the presence of Israeli forces there, Kanaani said: "Of course, the Zionist regime, especially its criminal prime minister, should first get rid of the quagmire in which it is trapped before thinking about attacking other power centers in the region. However, if he finds an opportunity for this fantasy."
