Tehran (IP) - The Head of Iran's Department of Environment (DoE) said the Taliban admitted to the fact that they should give Iran its water share from the Helmand River.

Ali Salajegheh told reporters on Wednesday that for the first time, the Taliban have accepted that Iran's water share should be released from the Helmand River.

Salajegheh told reporters that the decision was made during the recent visit of the Taliban's economic delegation to Tehran.

Salajegheh also answered a question asked by the Iran Press correspondent about the dust crisis in the region and said that in the first step, it is supposed to moisten the surface of the Hamoun Lake by releasing water to the lake to prevent the spread of dust.
