Damascus (IP) - A member of the Syrian People’s Assembly says the United States and Israel are orchestrating terrorist attacks in Aleppo and other northern regions of Syria, as part of a broader strategy to weaken the country’s position within the resistance axis.

Iran Press/West Asia: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press in Damascus, Hikmat Abu Ghazi emphasized that the recent resurgence of terrorist activity is intended to destabilize Syria and undermine its pivotal role in resisting the Zionist regime. “The aim of reactivating terrorist groups is to divert Syria from its resistance axis because Syria is the cornerstone of opposition to the Zionist regime,” he said.

Abu Ghazi expressed confidence in Syria’s ability to overcome these challenges, noting the resilience and capabilities of the Syrian army under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad. “The Syrian army is fully capable of repelling terrorist attacks in Aleppo and other areas, restoring security and stability for the Syrian people,” he added.

The MP also highlighted ongoing coordinated efforts between the Syrian army and allied armed groups to launch targeted strikes on terrorist positions in northern Syria, declaring, “The Syrian army is invincible, and operations against terrorist groups are underway with precision and determination.”

Abu Ghazi’s comments come in the wake of renewed terrorist attacks, particularly by groups like Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, on Aleppo. These attacks follow the recent ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, which frustrated the Zionist regime’s ambitions in southern Lebanon.
