Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated in a tweet on Tuesday: "US keeps repeating empty offers of "aid." Here's an idea: Put your policy where your mouth is. Just stop blocking Iranian people's right to use their own money frozen in Korea, Iraq, and Japan, to be used for food and medicine amid pandemic.
Khatibzadeh added: "Simple. Ask OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) to allow South Korea to send our money to the Swiss Financial Channel."
On Tuesday, Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiei said that South Korea has deprived the Iranian of their rights and doesn't release Iran's frozen money under US policies' pressure.
According to Hossein Tanhaei, head of Iran-South Korea Chamber of Commerce, there had been various talks about the amount of Iranian money blocked in South Korea, indicating that between $6 billion and $9 billion of Iranian money had not been released in Korea, but Iran says the amount is $8.5 billion.
