Iran Press/ Iran news: In the pre-agenda speech before the beginning of today's open session, Ghalibaf congratulated the beginning of the Holy Defense Week to the proud nation of Iran and expressed: "The slogan of the Holy Defense Week this year is a clever and instructive slogan. We are strong and this is the logic that caused Iranian people enemies to face defeat."
Referring to recent US actions, Ghalibaf announced that the enemy did not get what he wanted because of the firm stance and resistance of the Iranian nation.
The parliament speaker noted: "The experience of this period has shown that whenever we act passively against the hostile actions of the United States, more sanctions are imposed on our people, so it is necessary not to allow more pressure on the people by taking smart, effective and active measures."
He added: "In this regard, it is necessary for the parliament's National Security Commission to monitor the unilateral actions of the United States, which have caused other protests from other countries in the international community after the disgraceful defeat of the United States in the legal and political spheres, and to seriously pursue and present the necessary countermeasures to protect the interests of the people."
Ghalibaf pointed out: "It is our duty to strengthen the people. The problem of our people is inefficiency in running the country, difficult living conditions, and lack of economic support. We should not delay the country and the people's livelihood to see what the West will do, but we should prioritize the people, and we should take advantage of the clear experiences of the Iranian people and know that America's enmity with this nation is deep-rooted."
He added: "Whether Trump becomes president or Biden, there will be no difference in the main policy of hitting the Iranian nation, so we need to focus on strengthening our nation and declare real victory when our economy and people are strong and feel that tangible changes have taken place in their lives."
