Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, Ali Shamkhani made the remark in a meeting with a Palestinian parliamentary delegation in Tehran on Sunday, led by Mahmoud al-Zahar, the co-founder and member of the Hamas leadership in Gaza.
Shamkhani added: "The Zionist regime is the number one enemy and threat to the world of Islam, and any action which distracts Muslims from their primary task of confronting the Zionist regime, is a stab in the back - a betrayal - of all Muslims and Islam.
The secretary of Iran's supreme national security council went on to praise the people of the Gaza strip, and the Palestinian resistance, particularly their stunning victory over the Israeli regime in the recent five-day-war, saying the victory was a direct result of the faith of the Palestinian people in their struggle, their steadfast resistance and resilience towards the Zionist regime.

Turning to signs that the Israeli regime is collapsing, Ali Shamkhani said: "What will bring down the Israeli regime is widespread corruption inside the regime, including among the Zionist leaders, and vigilance and awareness of the nations of this region vis-a-vis the terrible crimes and atrocities committed by Israel, including the killing of innocent Palestinian children and teenagers."
The secretary of Iran's supreme national security council emphasized that today, all those who support Palestine believe that the only way to realize the long-denied rights of the Palestinian people, and for Palestinians to achieve victory, is to rely on the Palestinian people's unwavering determination and the Islamic resistance movement.
At the meeting, Mahmoud al-Zahar praised the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian government and the Iranian people, for supporting Palestine and the Palestinian people's struggle.
Zahar also praised Iran’s opposition to the resolutions that the US proposes against Palestine in the United Nations.211/103
