Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Shamkhani wrote in a message on his Twitter account on Thursday: "Before the revolution, Iran was totally dependent on foreign medical services, but thanks to the Islamic Revolution, it displayed the miracle of the power of infrastructures to confront the Coronavirus crisis.
"The expanding growth of hospitals and universities and the increase of medical science professionals around the country is an unparalleled asset for the defense of people's health."
In a daily press conference, the Health Ministry's spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour confirmed that 2,389 new people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection and 157 more people have died because of the novel Coronavirus during the past 24 hours.
He went on to say that 10457 people have recovered and discharged from the hospitals since the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran.
Given the latest figures of the Health Ministry, the total number of people diagnosed with the Coronavirus has reached 29,406 people, out of whom 2,234 people died.
According to a spokesman for the Ministry of Health 2746 patients are in critical condition.
"As of this morning, more than 50 million people have participated in Coronavirus Screening National Plan," Jahanpour said.
