Iran Press/ Iran News: Head of coordinating executive operations at the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, Brigadier General Nasrollah Fathian gives an update on the latest counter-Coronavirus efforts in Iran via video conference.
Fathian states: "We have 6 strong points in the country, including having a wise, brave and comprehensive leadership, having intelligent and law-abiding people, having a strong and integrated health system, a strong Basij, IRIB and also the armed forces. From the first day, all of those that were needed to counter the Coronavirus played a major role in the country. More than 20,000 medical staff and over 100,000 nurses in the country have done a great job in this regard."
Saying that there is still no definitive cure for Coronavirus, Brigadier General Fathian noted: "Many research centers around the world are working to develop the vaccine for COVID-19. In our country, these efforts are underway. In these 69 days that we have been fighting this virus in our country, all the healthcare staff and researchers have been working hard to fulfill their duty."
He further added: "At the same time as the Coronavirus, our people are facing sanctions, and the Basij is at the forefront of this struggle. About 500 billion tomans were donated by our kind people to help hospitals buy medical equipment."
