Iran Press/commentary: UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif al-Zayani, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and US President Donald Trump all claimed that the agreement would pave the way for a ceasefire and peace in the West Asian region.
This claim comes at a time when many independent analysts believe that a settlement agreement not only does it not lead to peace in the Middle East but is an example of "sin that can not be absolved" or as it might be called an unforgivable sin.
There are several reasons in this regard which in the following paragraphs would be elaborated.
The first and most important reason is that Israel not only did not liberate any part of the occupied territories against this agreement but also did not stop the aggression and occupation of more areas of Palestine.
At the same time, the 14-year brutal siege of the Gaza Strip has not ended.
In such circumstances, the action of the UAE and Bahrain constitutes support for the occupation and the crimes of Israel, as well as an increase in crimes. "Instead of seeking stability and security among the people and cooperating with countries in the region, the rulers of the UAE and Bahrain have turned their eyes to Netanyahu and Trump," said David Yaghoubian, a professor at the University of the United States.
For this reason, the settlement agreement is an exemplar of "unforgivable sin".
Another reason is that the so-called peace accord or settlement agreement with Israel in practice was accompanied by the humiliation of the UAE and Bahrain.
The Zionist regime faces numerous internal challenges in the political, security and economic spheres.
An agreement with the UAE and Bahrain could provide security and economic opportunities for Israel, but Donald Trump claimed at the signing ceremony that the agreement would create economic opportunities and further development for the two countries.
In other words, the US President believes that the UAE and Bahrain needed this agreement more than the Israeli side.
In addition, the US government's response to the UAE and Bahraini delegations in the United States was nothing but humiliating and belittling.
Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdul Latif Al-Zayani was welcomed not by the US Secretary of State but by a low-level US delegation, which is contradictory to diplomatic protocols in international relations.
This kind of practical behavior, along with Trump's view of these countries, which he considers them to be "milk cow" because of their oil revenues, indicates that the US President has belittled these Arab countries.
One of the reasons why Emirati civil society activists and a large part of the Bahraini population oppose the agreement is the US government's humiliating view of the two countries.
The third reason why the settlement agreement is an example of "sin that can not be forgiven" is that this agreement has led to further divisions and divergence in the Islamic world.
A large number of Islamic nations, as well as a number of Islamic states, oppose the agreement, calling it a betrayal of Palestine and the Islamic world.
However, some countries have explicitly supported this agreement and some have implicitly supported it. This situation shows that the settlement agreement has strengthened divergence within the Islamic world, and this is an unforgivable sin.
The UAE and Bahrain signed a normalization agreement in the presence of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday night after announcing a compromise agreement with the occupying regime in al-Quds.
