Tehran (IP) - In a phone call with Iran's president-elect, the President of Serbia congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the recent election and wished for expansion of bilateral relations.

Iran PressIran news: President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has congratulated President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on his election to an important and responsible position and wished him success in performing the difficult duties ahead of him.

Serbian President said: "Iran-Serbia relations developed well during the presidency of Ayatollah Raisi, and I hope that the process of improving relations and expanding cooperation in various fields will continue during your presidency."

"We discussed the current geopolitical situation, as well as the possibilities for deepening cooperation between our countries in areas of mutual interest. I thanked Iran for respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia," stated the Serbian president.

In this phone conversation, Iran's President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian referring to the fact that he was the chairman of the Iran-Serbia parliamentary friendship group during his parliamentary tenure, said: "I have a good knowledge of Serbia and I hope that through cooperation we can actualize the fields and capacities of bilateral ties."

Pezeshkian noting that the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes respecting the territorial integrity of all countries, added: "Iran has no limits to deepening and strengthening relations with Serbia." 219
