'Human values such as self-sacrifice and altruism and even loftier ideals such as national values, security and participation are being tampered by hegemonic powers which want to impose their own culture,' said Brigadier- General Mohammad Baqeri at a local ceremony in the Iranian capital.
He further referred to the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in 1980-88, saying the enemies at that time were to disintegrate Iran and overthrow the Islamic Republic in the country.
Iraq, under the leadership of the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, invaded Iran with the help of 35 world countries, Baqeri concluded.
