Mashhad (IP) - The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representative Office in Khorasan Razavi (northeast of Iran) announced the Saudi Arabian consulate reopening in Mashhad.

Iran PressIran news: Pointing to the official note sent by the Saudi consulate to the Iranian Foreign Ministry's office, Mohammad Beheshti-Monfared announced that the Saudi consulate officially reopened on Saturday in Mashhad in a hotel as a temporary place.     

After two years of negotiations mediated by Iraq, Oman, and China, Tehran and Riyadh announced on March 10, 2023, that they had agreed to normalize their relations. 

In 2016, the two countries severed diplomatic relations after the illegal entry of some Iranian citizens into Saudi Arabia's diplomatic facilities in Tehran and Mashhad.
