Moscow (IP) - Heading a high-ranking delegation, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak is set to pay a two-day visit to Iran on Tuesday.

Iran PressEurope: Alexander Novak is expected to hold meetings with high-ranking Iranian officials including Iran's Oil Minister Javad Owji, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad Reza Farzin to confer on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

He is scheduled to visit Iran on May 16 and 17th, Iranian media reported on Sunday.

Novak will also visit the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition and the 34th Tehran International Book Fair as well as leading Iranian companies.

Iran and Russia share strategic interests in bilateral fields, especially economic, military and security relations, as well as regional and international issues such as confronting American unilateralism, and this is one of the main factors of the close cooperation between the two sides in recent years.
