President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday, said United States administration's withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and transferring its embassy to the Holy Quds were two historic mistakes.
"History will judge that these two decisions have been very incorrect and imprecise towards Iran and the peoples of the region," Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday while meeting with the new ambassador of New Zealand to Tehran.
President Rouhani stressed that Tehran welcomes development of friendly relations with Wellington and referred to the ample potentials for deepening of these relations.
Speaking in a meeting with the new Ambassador of New Zealand to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving his letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani said: "There are good potentials for development of relations between Iran and New Zealand that must be taken advantage of and Tehran is ready to cement scientific, commercial and tourism ties with Wellington".
He also called the United States administration's withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and transferring its embassy to the Holy Quds as two historic mistakes, saying: "History will judge that these two decisions have been very incorrect and imprecise towards Iran and the peoples of the region".
Referring to the objections of the global community towards these two decisions, Rouhani said: "The first outcome of the incorrect decisions is Washington's isolation in the public opinion of the world".
The President also appreciated the positive stances of New Zealand on the JCPOA and said: "2015 was the year of success of politics and diplomacy over hostility and unfriendly relations among countries and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that constructive interaction with the countries of the world and adoption of a win-win approach will be beneficial for the entire world".
Iran has always been committed to its obligations in the international stage, he said, adding that in the case of the JCPOA, 11 reports by the IAEA verify this and the US' withdrawal from the deal is a political and moral defeat for the US administration.
New Ambassador of New Zealand to Tehran Hamish MacMaster presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and stressed that Wellington was willing to deepen and cement relations with Tehran in all fields, especially economy.
He added: "The two governments and nations of Iran and New Zealand have close, friendly relationship with each other and it is imperative that this relationship is further strengthened".
Iran welcomes deepening ties with Lebanon in all fields
President Rouhani described the friendship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon friendly and close, saying: "Iran welcomes deepening relations with Lebanon in all fields".
Speaking in a meeting with the new Ambassador of Lebanon to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving his letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue supporting the Lebanese government and nation to resist against terrorist groups and aggression by the Zionist Regime".
He also expressed happiness over the peaceful coexistence of followers of different religions in Lebanon, saying: "We hope that this election further strengthens unity and economic progress, and further deepen relations between Tehran and Beirut".
New Ambassador of Lebanon to Tehran Hassan Abbas presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and stressed: "Lebanon is determined to develop and deepen its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of mutual interest".
Iran ready to cement inclusive relations with Estonia
President Rouhani referred to the friendly and close relations between Iran and Estonia and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to deepen relations and cooperation with Estonia in all fields of mutual interest".
Speaking in a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Estonia to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving her letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani said: "There are good potentials and opportunities in various commercial and economic sectors between Iran and Estonia that must be taken the best advantage of".
There is no obstacle on the path of promoting friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, he said, stressing the importance of further deepening of these relations in various scientific, cultural, economic and tourism fields.
Rouhani also referred to the United States' unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Europe's limited time to announce its clear stances, saying: "Iran stays in the JCPOA only if it can fully enjoy its benefits".
Iranian, Latvian private sectors should take best advantage of potentials, opportunities
Stating that Iran was one of the first countries that recognised Latvia's independence, President Rouhani said: "We are ready to deepen our relations and cooperation with Latvia as a friend country in different sectors".
Speaking in a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving his letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani expressed hope that economic, cultural and scientific relations between the two countries develop".
Fortunately, positive developments have been made in Tehran-Riga relations in recent years, he said, stressing the importance of cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries, especially chambers of commerce to take the best advantage of potentials and opportunities for further development of ties.
New non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Tehran P?teris K?rlis Elferts presented his letter of credence to President Rouhani and said: "Latvia always considers itself indebted to the Iranian government and people for their support".
Iran willing to cement relations with Nepal in all fields
Referring to the friendly relations between Iran and Nepal, President Rouhani stressed the importance of taking advantage of existing potentials and opportunities to further develop relations between Tehran and Kathmandu.
Speaking in a meeting with the new non-resident Ambassador of Nepal to Tehran on Tuesday while receiving her letter of credence, President Hassan Rouhani said: "Development of stability and security in the world, especially friend countries, is very important for Iran and we can have positive and constructive cooperation in international stages, including the United Nations, Non-Aligned Movement and G77".
Referring to the killing of the innocent people of Palestine by the Zionist Regime, the President added: "Taking stances against the aggressions of the Zionist Regime and defending the oppressed people of Palestine is in fact defending the humanity and the path to global peace and stability".
Businesspeople and investors of the two countries can cooperate more closely with each other, he said, adding: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop relations and cooperation with Nepal in trade, investment and cultural and tourism fields".
New non-resident Ambassador of Nepal to Tehran Sewa Lamsal presented her letter of credence to President Rouhani and stressed: "We are willing to cement relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields of mutual interest".
