Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking during the inauguration of national projects of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts across the country on Thursday via video conferencing, Hassan Rouhani called the inauguration of these tourism and sport-oriented projects as very important, stating: "We have to protect our cultural heritage dating back to thousands of years quite well and introduce them perfectly."
The president went on to say: "We have to invite the people of the world to come and visit the country's historical attractions and figure out that the Iranian nation owns an old and important historical background."
Iran's president described sport and tourism as an important factor to decrease social damage and disorders and increase the youth's joy and health.
We are proud of the success of women in sports
Rouhani stressed: "We are proud of the success of women in sports and these victories show that the propaganda against Iran was wrong because Islam is a religion of freedom and a religion that has prepared the stage for social activity within the framework of Islamic ethics for all."
The President added: "Our women are present in science, politics, social activities. In all elections, women make up a large part of the population in the voting ranks, and even on national and special occasions and events that occur, women appear alongside men in the sports arena."
