The message said the valuable victory of the Iranian women's national futsal team in Asia , for the second consecutive year, delighted all sports fans , and the general public.
President Rouhani said: “The sweet victory is another indication of Iranian women and girls’ dynamism, capabilities and merits,” hoping that the honorable and hope-inspiring path would continue.
“I congratulate the Iranian nation on the valuable victory and appreciate the efforts of all involved including coaches of the teams,” he said, wishing eternal dignity for young people in Islamic Iran.
The Iranian team defeated Japan 5-2 and became champion of the 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship for the second consecutive year.
The Iranian futsal players had a brilliant performance in the second half of the game and surperized the Japanese squad.
The 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship kicked off on May 2 and ended on May 12.
